Deadbolt Lock on Closet Door

Q: Can we use deadbolt locks on a closet door located within an office? Would they need to be a latch style versus a bolt-style?

A: As long as the closet door is not in the path of egress. If the closet is large enough to walk in and shut the door, then it would be considered in the path of egress, and you would not be able to install a deadbolt lock on it. A standard passage latch set would be required.
